Bill: How sacred is our flag?
Details
Submitted by[?]: Outer Church
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2438
Description[?]:
Our national flag is an extension of us. It is our public face to the populace, our symbol to the rest of the world. If we do not respect our own flag, then how can we be expected to be respected in international circles? We wish to impose heavy government regulations and fines to anyone caught desecrating or otherwise dishonoring our national flag. Perhaps even criminal charges. Regardless of the specifics, people must be taught to respect the government, and the best way to do this is to teach them to respect the symbol first. Of course, we have no problem with commercial interests using our flag, as long as they do so respectfully. A nation is built upon the commercial interests, after all. It is the people's pleasure to consume. |

Message | While I applaud the decisions to treat the flag of the nation as respectfully as you have outlined Outer Church, I completely disagree with using our flag for commercial interests. Stiff fines and possibly jail, depending on the desecration, should be put in place to place the flag of the nation on the proper pedestal it deserves. Any use of the nation's flag for commercial interests will be fought considerably by this party. |

Message | But if the commercial interests treat our flag with the utmost respect, perhaps equating a buyer of their brand with a good citizen, then what could possibly be the problem? We are not unreasonable. The commercial interests will be held to the same standard as the general populace. In fact, we may go so far as to say that a business that desecrates our flag should be dissolved, but that is for another bill at another time. |

Message | EVERY place is for the state to legislate. Only when we have completely decided how each citizen is malfunctioning and cure them of it, can this nation enjoy full efficiency. |
