Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2100
Description[?]:
As there has been a steady increase of international interaction over the course of the last few decades, it is becoming necessary to create a body that would monitor known or possible threats to the Republic of Hobrazia and its interests. As such, the Christian Socialist Party proposes the creation of the Hobrazian Intelligence Agency as a non-military, information-gathering organization. The responsibilities of the HIA would be to keep track of and analyze potential threats to the safety of Hobrazian citizens and institutions, either through electronic surveillance or through personnel abroad. A permanent department building to house this new agency would be built in Astoria City. The Chief of the HIA may be appointed by the Chancellor and must be approved by a majority of Parliament. However, the HIA will still be bound by all privacy laws as established by Parliament. Signed, Stephen Finchly, Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Kevin Schmidt |

Message | I believe this is necessary. Though strict guidelines must be introduced to prevent any "secret police" organization that spies on it's own citizens. |

Message | Make that added clause to simply state that the HIA is bound by all laws passed by the government as these are already designed to protect the prizacy of citizens. |
