MessageThis will reduce the burden on Kanjor's poorest citizens, and although it lowers the threshold for the middle rate it reduces the taz rate at that level allowing the vast majority of people in Kanjor greater freedom from taxation.

MessageThe cuts in tax may seem large but considering much of the money will come back to us in the form of sales tax and corporation tax by allowing growth in other sectors we think this is a prudent investment, much of the reduction will be covered by the surplus we had to begin with. We have also slightly cut spending overall. Even with spending cuts though, we are still giving more back to the people than previous governments as we are reducing th governments surplus. The main reason for a surplus was as an emergency measure like say a sudden war ..... increased defence spending clearly counters this.

MessageThe current rate should stay at it is to maintain the current standards and services the government provides the people.

People will not make up for the loss of vital public services with their lowered tax rates. They will just end up taking the money they had paid in before and spending it on these services which they have lost.

Requiring people to pay a few pennies is better than everyone having to spend rupees "voluntarily".

MessageIf you look at the spending bill you will see that vial public services will actually see more spending, only departments that are less significant to the gneral public have saw their budgets cut, clearly your argument is invalid. It is clearly win win. We can and will achieve both. The spending hasn't been cut it has simply been re-jigged. Taxation has been cut and merely eats into the surplus. So what is the DLP's problem and furthermore where is there argument coming from?

MessageWe must first commend the KCP for the production of a responsible budget proposal. We are in overall agreement with the taxation side particulary the reduction in the rate of taxation for our poorer citizens. As for the spending proposals we view with some concern the reduction in the food and agriculture budget, as Senators may know we have a comprehensive program of support for small farmers and we feel that a reduction would negatively impact these programs.

Perhaps the KCP may wish to consider removing 2 Billion from the Health and Social Services increases (which still enables an increase there) and increasing their proposed Food and Agriculture proposal to 14 Billion?

MessageWe do not feel that cutting 1.5 billion from the Food & Agriculture bill will harm smAll farms as the governments current drive toward efficiency should prevent any adverse affect on public service. Evene departments that gained an increase will be driven towards more efficient use of the budget to maximise the impact of what is really only a slight increase in many cases.

MessageThis matter we feel is vital to the interests of many of our constituents. We cannot support a budget which reduces expenditure in this vital area.
