Bill: Respect and Solidarity with Eldery Workers Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Autonomie d'Ouvrier

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2442

Description[?]:

We feel that workers are being asked to spend far too much of their time on "the assembly lines" so to speak. People need to have some actual vitality in them when they retire. That way they can, ya know, enjoy themselves. Those who turn 58 may decide to retire and take their pensions at this time. Though they can continue to work if they so wish.

MessageWe believe that this bill is not about a mandatory retirement age but rather to determine the age from which workers may voluntary retire and access their pensions.

MessageWe will not support a reduction, with increased spending in health & social care we should see an increase in life expectancy over coming years mandating an increase in retirement age if anything.

MessageKCP- We fail to see why a "predicted" increase in life expectancy means anything more than workers existing rather than living longer. Retirement should be be about enjoyment. Workers will be broken after 60 regardless if they have drugs to keep them "alive" a bit longer.

MessageWe do not feel a reduction in retirement age will ever me economically viable whether retirement is for enjoyment or not, besides if peope work longer they will have the financial means to have a more enjoyable retirement and also if they work longer the government can daw more from them in taxes and use this revenue to help subsidise these retirements an thus improve the quality of life for pensioners. The KCP prefers quality to quanity when it comes to retirement and maintaining the current age will maintain quality. Earlier retirement will simply cause cash strapped pensioners and an even more cash strapped government forced to support what will inevitably become a generation of "elderly burden" on the public purse.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).
