From | Partie Patriotique de Kanjor | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | We find this proposal anti-democratic, surely democracy is best served by the local inhabitants deciding for themselves how they want their mayors selected. |

From | Kanjoran Centrist Party | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | Also PPK, we have no way have allowing the people to decide the method of appointment that simply isn't an option - we have to allow them to elect they're own mayors. That is the most democratic thing we can do. |

From | Kanjoran Centrist Party | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | If this were the case then there would be no point in the game having the " Citizens elect their mayor directly in a local election." feature. Although method of appointment is decided by local government not all local governments will allow they're citizens to vote for their mayors and in this a democratic society we feel that we should firmly place the power with the people, ensuring that it is them who elect their mayors by a regional vote and not just at local government discretion. |

From | 2ème PPPP | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | The PPK is way over the edge here. It is ludicrous to allow a rogue local government to start appointing mayors in any way besides direct democracy. |

From | 2ème PPPP | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | I also see that the PPK is part of an organization for "regionalism in democracy." What about democracy in regionalism? |
Date | 03:56:58, August 20, 2007 CET |
From | Partie Patriotique de Kanjor | To | Debating the Bill for Mayoral Elections | Message | The PPK believes in the princple of subsidiarity, ie that government functions should be exercised at the lowest practicable level. This is not A matter for the central government! We are not aware of any 'rogue local governments' if the PPP is perhaps it should inform the Senat? |
