Bill: Employers have rights too

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberty Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2445

Description[?]:

Firing their entire workforce will no doubt put them out of business. But that's the free market. I doubt an employer would ever fire their entire work force if they went on strike, but they must be guaranteed the right to do so. If a worker refuses to work, for whatever reason, their employer must have the right to take them off the payroll list.

MessageWe take great offense to this "legislation". Workers must have the ability to go on strike and not immediately fear for their lively hood, as they are a.) attempting to better the working conditions of everyone around them, which makes them more productive and b.) giving this power to the employer allows for mass termination of employment contract, which will, of course, result in multitudes of new unemployed.

MessageThe employer is the person who provides work and pay cheques for these people. They have the right to dismiss them at any point. Especially if they refuse to work.
Why would an employer fire every one of his workers? Their business would go under for sure. Workers can strike, but they know that if they do, it better be for a good reason, or else the business will fire them all, and will probably go under.
