Message | Destroying universal citizenship? Do we want to go back to land ownership qualifications? |
Date | 05:12:08, September 06, 2007 CET | From | Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD) | To | Debating the Citizenship Act of March 2451 |
Message | No; it is one of the options but it is petty and was not chosen. Qualifications ensures that all those who participate in the what it means to be a citizen understand the role and organization of government, they understand their duties and priviledges within the citizenship system and they have the acquired knowledge to make well-reasoned and sound decisions in a democratic society. Why give citizenship to the unfirm and ignorant? If the masses truly care and wish to help in the decision making process of their nation, they will take the time to become educated on the subjects and pass the qualifying exam. It is the opinion of the UPF that this will shrink the citizenship of the nation only slightly, given the relatively high rates of voter turnout for elections, which wasroughly 87% of the electorate in the last election. |

Message | Why give citizenship to the ignorant? How about because they are members of this society! |
Date | 06:53:37, September 06, 2007 CET | From | Grand Order of Organized Native Sodality | To | Debating the Citizenship Act of March 2451 |
Message | We disagree with the citzenship. If you are Kanjoran, you are Kanjoran. We totally agree with the other two proposals, though. |
Date | 23:59:16, September 06, 2007 CET | From | Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD) | To | Debating the Citizenship Act of March 2451 |
Message | Only Kanjorans will be allowed to take the qualifying exam. This is only a test that ensures that the people who will be choosing their government understand how their government works and understand what is at stake. We fail to see how this is such a terrible proposition. |
Date | 03:41:48, September 07, 2007 CET | From | 2ème PPPP | To | Debating the Citizenship Act of March 2451 |
Message | Some people are not going to pass the test, meaning that you would be denying citizenship to Kanjorans. |
Date | 04:59:19, September 07, 2007 CET | From | Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD) | To | Debating the Citizenship Act of March 2451 |
Message | They should study harder. If they cannot answer simple questions involving their own government politics how can they be expected to participate through voting? How can they be expected to understand enough to make a decision that effects their country and themselves? |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
