Bill: Eminent Domain Fair Compensation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti Monarchiste Catholique
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2098
Description[?]:
Our government currently does not compensate private citizens when their property is seized through the government's right of eminent domain. In the interest of fairness, of respecting private property, and of ensuring that the government does not abuse its power of eminent domain, this bill proposes that: 1) The government be required by law to justly compensate victims of property seized under eminent domain laws. AND 2) A neutral body appointed by the courts determines the amount that constitutes just compensation in each particular case. AND 3) Either the government or the victim of eminent domain seizure may appeal the decision of said body. |
