Message | Wouldn't this mean local governments, if they wanted to, could choose not to have a fire service? |

Message | Yes, but then exactly how would the voters in that province react to their elected officials acting in such a careless manner? A little faith in the ability of people to oversee their own affairs is necessary unless we want the state pre-chewing people's food for them as well, lest they choose not to chew it properly themselves. |
Date | 01:44:26, August 25, 2005 CET | From | LibCom Party | To | Debating the Fire Department Funding |
Message | Again, we'd much rather this was centrally funded, but we'll vote in favour as this is an improvement on the status quo. |

Random fact: Large scale RP planning (such as wars, regional/continental conflicts, economic collapse, etc.) should be planned (as best as it can be) and should have consent of a majority of players involved. |
Random quote: "A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example." - Niccolo Machiavelli |
