Bill: Adoption Decentralization Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Shaman's Voice
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2494
Description[?]:
To point of this bill is to give power to the local governments regarding adoption policy. Each tribe has its own customs and the federal government shouldn’t infringe on a tribe’s right by passing a law that affects all the tribes the same way. Besides, we shouldn’t have a central bureaucracy to dictate adoption for the entire country. That just creates more red tape. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning adoption.
Old value:: Adoption is regulated by the government. Applicants can adopt after a routine check-up.
Current: Adoption is strictly regulated by the government. Only by passing several tests and by following an intensive program applicants can adopt children.
Proposed: Adoption policy is to be established by local governments.

Message | Although we in principle support increasing the jurisdiction of local governments, we are unsure if this is a matter that should ultimately be left to them. That said, this law is preferable to the overly lax law we have now, which merely gives children to paedophiles. |
