Bill: Budget proposal of February 2494

Details

Submitted by[?]: 2ème PPPP

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2494

Description[?]:

This is a simple proposal. Kanjor has always been an incredibly fiscally responsible nation, so I would not venture to change the amount of funds we receive from current tax policy (which is quite satisfactory, having been created by our party a few decades ago) or change the amount of money that our government spends. This is simply a change of priorities. The cooperation of all of Kanjor's politicians has kept our country peaceful for more than a century, so it's time to gradually step back from spending so much money on things military and making a stronger commitment to the education of future generations. Not only shall Kanjor be safe and strong, but it shall be smart! (It already is, of course, but we shall be smarter!)

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
