Bill: Nationality Rights
Details
Submitted by[?]: Stärke und Sicherheit Koalition
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2497
Description[?]:
A national is simply a person born in Barmenistan. Is there any reason we currently grant national status to any person on this planet? Our current policy does not even require a person live in or even have ever visited Barmenistan to claim to be Barmenian. ID Cards should be available to any citizen who wishes to carry them. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government-issued identity card policy.
Old value:: Citizens are not issued with identity cards.
Current: All citizens are issued with identity cards but are not required to carry them.
Proposed: Citizens are issued with identity cards on a voluntary basis.
Article 2
Proposal[?] to change Government policy concerning granting nationality (national of this state without implication of having citizenship rights).
Old value:: Anyone is able to claim nationality.
Current: Anyone receives nationality but immigrants must pass a test to gain nationality.
Proposed: Only those born in this country or to nationals receive nationality.

Message | it is the right of all people who have our culture and identy to claim nationality. there has and will continue to have lots of people who live abroad in terra who are descendents from national and they have just as much right to enjoy the benifits oif this country as anyone else. I.D. cards will be quite hard to produce and secure against fraud |

Message | We do not support a restriction on nationality. Our nation is primarily composed of immigrants now, and we are a consociational state. Yet, we seem to be doing better than we ever have. To restrict immigration and nationality would absolutely appall the majority of Barmenistans, as the majority are either immigrants or direct descents of immigrants. |
