Bill: Deregulation 2
Details
Submitted by[?]: Neoliberal Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2526
Description[?]:
Causes of using cannabis: Higher risk to get scitzophrenia (I really don't know how it's spelled, it's the two personalities thing). Higher risk to get lungcancer (if you smoke it). The memory will get worse. I don't think these are enough to outlaw the use of cannabis. Besides, now the users have to buy it from criminals. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The recreational drug policy.
Old value:: Recreational drug use is forbidden.
Current: Recreational drug use is forbidden.
Proposed: The use of cannabis is legal.

Message | You can never destroy an industry through banning the product; only put it in the hands of criminals. Far better that the government has increased control over it through closely lisenced sale and taxation. |

Message | Yeah, we can never stop murders by making them illegal. Murdering should be a funny hobby controlled by the government. |

Message | The difference being that individuals should be free to harm themselves, harming other should never be allowed. It's like trying to outlaw suicide; you could claim it's to help people but should we really intervene? |

Message | Parents smoking cannabis harms their children and by making it legal, we allow them to harm them. If mother is high, she really doesn't care about her kids at that time. |

Message | If a mother is drunk, does she care about her kids at that time? Really, the potential dangers from cannabis are far lower than those from alcohol. |
Date | 22:22:34, February 03, 2008 CET | From | Loyalistische Partei | To | Debating the Deregulation 2 |
Message | True, but if mother drinks, she will have hangover. With cannabis, she will have nothing at all. It is easier to be high that drunk in that way. |
Date | 22:50:41, February 03, 2008 CET | From | New-Revolutionary Communist Party (NRCP) | To | Debating the Deregulation 2 |
Message | The hangover will only extend the period of time for which a mother finds it hard to care for her children correctly. Anyone who's tried to look after a family with a blazing head will attest to this. In this case, a self-serving punishment does little to make a person better in carrying out their duties. |
