| For too long, we have permitted an addictive and otherwise illegal drug to be used for supposedly medical reasons. We submit that there are other remedies for those who need to use medicinal marijuana, and that permitting any form of this drug to be used is an unconscionable risk to society. |

| Message | The problem for us is that phrase "as drugs go". We are of the belief that drugs *shouldn't* go, and that's precisely the point. Besides which, the private member (OOC: Backbencher, junior senator, whatever you call them worldwide) putting this motion has lost family to drug-related crime, so she's a bit sensitive on the issue. |
