Bill: Maximising Resources
Details
Submitted by[?]: National People's Gang
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2110
Description[?]:
The greatest collective asset of the Five States is the people themselves. A key factor in the success of the federation has been the diversity of skills, talents and cultures we have attracted from around the world through decades of immigration. By imposing immigration controls we risk attracting only the idle rich whose sole skill resides in tax avoidance schemes. By instituting arrival and integration support we will attract the diversity of people which have become the lifeblood of our country. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The national refugee policy.
Old value:: All refugees are welcome but no financial aid is given to them.
Current: All refugees are welcome but no financial aid is given to them.
Proposed: All refugees are welcome, regardless of their reason, and given aid in integrating them into the country.

Message | "By imposing immigration controls we risk attracting only the idle rich whose sole skill resides in tax avoidance schemes." 1) We dont have any immigration controls..."All refugees are welcome, regardless of their reason" 2) Who do we attract by paying them? Not those that prefer to work for their money. "By instituting arrival and integration support we will attract the diversity of people which have become the lifeblood of our country." 3) We already do so 4) Justify why this money doesn't belong to those already in Lodamun |

Message | Refugees who are intgrated into society are more productive and more useful to society. The expense is small, and can be expected to pay much larger economic benefits. (it's a similar debate in fact to mandatory recycling: why welcome refugees if you aren't going to integrate them?) |
Date | 22:09:06, September 12, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | Because they are capable of integrating themselves. In any case they have no right to the money of those already in Lodamun. What entitles them to it? (("Immigrants used to come to America seeking freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom from government. Now they come looking for free health care, free education, and a free lunch.")) |
Date | 23:42:01, September 12, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | The are entitled to it because the government recognises it as an investment which reaps huge rewards to everyone. |
Date | 01:30:35, September 13, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | And the government has the right to seize and redistribute private assets, why? |
Date | 02:31:11, September 13, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | Because they cannot do it individually. |
Date | 04:01:29, September 13, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | They cannot redistribute their own assets? Of course they can, the only thing to stop them is taxation... |
Date | 19:00:50, September 13, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | we support this bill as a fiscally sound and compassionate measure. |
Date | 19:52:55, September 13, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Maximising Resources |
Message | Compassionate is using your own property to help others. Distributing the property of others is not compassionate, it is dishonest and immoral |
