MessageMost of the time, the current law works fine. Children are put with good parents, and go on to lead happy lives. However, due to the lax regulations of the current law, children may equally be put with entirely unsuitable parents. The state has a responsibility to look after children put into it's care, not just to shunt them off to the first person looking for one.

For what is better? A child staying in a children's home a few more months, or a child being put into the care of a paedophile?

MessageThis will increase the cost it takes to adopt children which means that single people as well as poor people will not be able to adopt. This also leaves several middle class families at risk of not being able to adopt either.

It is nice to see that the JUP does not care at all for hard working people who want to adopt but won't be able to if this law passes.

MessageIt doesn't matter about what the parents want. All we need to be concerned about is the welfare of the children.

MessageNo all you want is to add more money to the coffers of the nations. If you make things to expensive, people will not opt for it. That means our orphanages and foster homes will be overrunned with children who want to be adopted but can't because of all the restrictions that you want to place on them. Besides that, we already have laws to protect the welfare of the chilren.

Message*sighs* Adoption rates are going to go down. I hope the people who passed this are satisfied that children will not find good homes because people will be less inclined to adopt due to expenses.
