Message | There is no reason to reduce government involvement in housing, if anything it benifits Hulstria to do so. Also, gated communities is not housing, it has to do with segregating sections of living areas from the general population. If people wish to live like this then they should be able to do so. There are several Aneist gated communities in Thague, which prevented the spreading of riots around the city two years ago. This was only a benefit. |

Message | And the Aneist community is still going to be able to set up gated communities in future - as will any other community. This bill simply removes any government imperative to do so. |

Message | If you havn't already noticed, the Aneists are part of the government. |

Message | Your point being? When I say "the Aneist community" I mean it in the same way as I do when I say "the immigrant community" or "the Jewish community" or anything else. A group of like-minded Aneists are still welcome to set up a gated community under their own steam. Nobody's going to challenge that with this legislation. What would change, should this bill pass, is that the setting-up would have to be done under their own steam, rather than by government diktat. The government won't stop them doing so, neither will it do the setting-up for them. OOC: If these "Aneist gated communities" aren't just places where private citizens who happen to subscribe to Aneism live in security-patrolled compound sorts of things, please let me know. That was the definition I was working under here. |

Message | The Aneists claim the right to set up gated communities for their followers, those who are Hulstrian and those who are Dranian, as they see fit, using party resources. They see no reason why they should be forbidden to do so. Gated communities cause no harm so should be left to do as they will. |

Message | Again, the Aneists themselves as a group or a political party are most welcome to set up gated communities using their own resources. Where in this bill does that right get circumscribed? The *only* thing being circumscribed is the possibility that the *government* as distinct from the *party* or the *movement* is not going to kick funds into the setup of the community. If the Aneists are incapable of differentiating between party and government resources, I seriously question their probity. |
