Bill: Effective Training Act 2557
Details
Submitted by[?]: Vanuku Sinatranoan Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2557
Description[?]:
With an increase in people using public transport, in particular the trains, it has been found that private TOCs have dropped the ball somewhat, with only 92% of trains running, and 88% running on time... well below the benchmark required of 98% and 96% respectively. Given that all train fares are fully subsidised by the Government, this is no longer acceptable. The Vanuku Sinatranoan Party proposes that Vanuku operate a single train system, publicly owned and funded (given it is already subsidised). The estimated costs (to be ratified by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport) by the independent panel: the Vanuku Regional Ombudsmen for Oversight of Mobility (VROOM) come in at arount 16.2 billion VAN over 10 years... quite achievable given Vauku's excellent surplus under the Menzies Government. The time has come to start updating our ailing rail system, and the best way to achieve this is through taking full control and responsibility once more. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
