MessageBasically who ever wins Ilathar County in the next election, wins the Mayoral Election.
I suggest we all propose candidates before hand...

MessageIt's not a change to the constitution of the nation. It's an adaptation of the current legislation in regards to local councils. As far as I'm aware we have mayor's (or their equivalents) running the councils at present anyway, all this will do is name one of them.

MessageTrue, but you are changing what our national elections are for and things regarding national elections (legislative term, number of seats, etc) ARE part of the constitution. You are now saying that we are electing 750 people, plus a head of state AND a mayor. Isn't that a change to the constitution?

MessageSurely the people of the Capital should be able to choose their mayor from our candidates??

(in game terms it adds another strategic element, to win the mayoral election in the Capital would be a decent victory. It means keeping an eye on the regional politics as well as national. )

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
