Bill: Saiserist Decree of 2586: Withdraw from a Treaty that Has No Bearing On Us

Details

Submitted by[?]: Saiserist League

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2586

Description[?]:

"This treaty was forced down the throats of the Directorate almost ninety years ago by an incompetent party that managed to procure the Lord Marshallship and a huge majority of seats. It has no bearing on us, being solely concerned with the continent of Dovani and it's subcontinent Keris, it clutters up our real treaties, ties our legislative hands, and makes us all look like idiots for ever ratifying such a treaty. We hope that something this simple can be a nonpartisan issue."

~ Official Spokesman Artur Churkin, addressing the bill to the Directorate

Message"Tut tut tut. For a party that seems to be very pro-military, they seem awfully willing to damage it at every opportunity. First they wish to ban all but Saiserist Slavic men from the military, then they wish to cut short our research into inter-continental ballistic missiles, which is all a space rocket really is, except that instead of carrying multiple independent re-entry vehicles, it carries a satellite. There is only one other similar agency doing this work, and it would be better for us to join this one, as it would allow us to lower costs for this work. But, until we are members of this organisation, we should stick with the Dovani Space Agency. I include the treaty for this other agency below."

MessageThen we can try to join the International Space Agency, that is a whole other issue. We are not trying to push any particular point on the Space issue, we just feel that it is remarkably stupid that as a Majatran nation we are members of the "Dovani Space Agency"

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
