Bill: Banning of Religious Schools
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan National Party (Leftists)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2588
Description[?]:
We here at the Democratic Socialist Party believe education to be a secular entity. Whilst we have no problem with sunday schooling, the eduacationg of our future generations should not ever be based upon questionable books. This, and the fact that religious schools often use excesivelly harsh punishment methods, segregate children of a certain denomination from the rest of society, making a breeding ground for isolation and intolerance, and teach that religious children are somehow superior as human beings to their non-religious counterparts, not to mention the fact that they can teach dangerous ideas to our students. To allow the operation of religious schools is to damage a group of kids, and I will not permit this damage. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time to stand up for our kids, and our future, so vote yes on this bill, and get religion out of education! |

Date | 17:18:46, June 06, 2008 CET | From | Kirlawa Democratic Labour | To | Debating the Banning of Religious Schools |
Message | We are a secular society. A non-secular government would stick its nose into religion and interfere with it, which is what this bill is doing. I also believe the DSP has missed the line "strictly regulated" in the current law. The bad things which he mentions would not happen in schools as they are strictly regulated |

Message | This bill is not really secular; as government is influencing religion |

Message | Again, the violence of relgion, and the basing of a child's education on intolerance and questionable books is not something ndeed in Kirlawa. |
Date | 22:03:34, June 06, 2008 CET | From | Kirlawan National Party (Leftists) | To | Debating the Banning of Religious Schools |
Message | We are ok with Sunday schools, but not with the entire basing of a child's education on religion. We will not become a violent, intolerant, and segregated society. That is why we vote yes on this bill. All children must learn together, and learn to tolerate and accept one another, not be isolated from each .other |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
