Bill: Motion to Censure: Imperium Party

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Rutanian Libertarian Union

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2588

Description[?]:

This is a motion presented by the Liberal Conservative caucus to censure, and thus punish, the Imperium Party for their outrageous and slanderous comments about the Right Honourable President Samson made during the debate about the future of prostitution in this country. They had suggested to National Congress that the President 'invited prostitutes to his mansion' and this goes far beyond what is considered responsible and far beyond the conventions of Congressional Privilege.

Not only do we consider this to be bad sportsmanship and ignoble, but also that if we let such comments go unnoticed this will only become worse if we do not act to censure parties now - especially if they feel they are losing a vote.

MessageOf course in regarding this question the President or the Party STILL hasn't address the congress. Instead of answering you wish to censure us? You're only adding more fuel to the fire. We'll never be silenced while this law still exists.

MessageThe National Congress, oppose this bill, the Liberal Conservative Party is attempting to elimate the opposition by censuring us. He sees us as a threat, we are scrutinising the current laws and he can't take that. Instead he wishes to get rid of us..

MessageWhat on earth? This is in order to punish members of your party for their unwarranted and slanderous comments concerning the President of the Commonwealth and alleging that he prefers the company of prostitutes. The Liberal Conservative Party believes in honour and grace in politics and this vote is to confirm that parties in National Congress recognise that and adhere to the principles of good and responsible government - as opposed to defamation, lies and deceit to pass our bills.

We believe wholeheartedly in debate and scrutiny, those are the foundations of democracy in this nation but your party's allegations are far from debate and scruntiny. They are nothing of the sort.

MessageAnd still the President has not answered our question, only two simple words "YES" or "NO". There is no need for a paragraph of your thoughts.

MessageWe would have to vote yes on this bill simply because the President does have a right to sue over falsehoods spoken about him but instead of sueing, the President wishes to censure. The Liberal Conservatives were not the only party to vote against the Prostitution bill, we were too. The President considers the comments to be "slanderous" so that means the President does NOT have company by prostitutes.

MessageThe wrongdoing of the Imperium Party has been recognised by the National Congress, and they shall be appropriately sanctioned.

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer.
