Bill: The Family-Friendly Adoption Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dranland First Party (CC)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2598

Description[?]:

The Family and Tradition Party believes that adopted children have the right to be raised in a family structure that is consistent with the traditional nuclear family unit - the cornerstone of our society - as this will provide the best environment for a healthy upbringing. This will ensure that each adopted child is raised in a manner that will help them become healthy and normal adults, and will ensure the retention of wholesome family values.
If homosexual couples are allowed to adopt, not only will this be damaging to the child's upbringing, in that the couple will inevitably expose the child to some of their own predispositions and values, and raise them in a way that is inconsistent with normal families, but this will also perpetuate the gradual erosion of our values as a society, our traditional culture, and most importantly, our traditional concept of the nuclear family. The immensely important societal institution of the family, we believe, is worth protecting against all dangers to it.

This legislation favours the maintainance and continuation of the traditional family unit as the most important form of association in our society - the cornerstone of our social structure and one of the most important origins of wholesome values.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
