Bill: Civil Liberties Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan National Party (Leftists)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2600
Description[?]:
We here at the DSP believe that there must be reasonable limits to personal freedoms, so that others are not harmed by someone expressing their freedom. We believe that sexual intercourse is something for the bedroom, and to be done privately, and not in public. We believe that intercourse in public could lead to children seeing such things, which could distress and damage them mentally. It also causes distress to other bystanders. Therefore, we say that people ought to keep sex to the bedroom, and that if they cause distress to others by having sex in public, that they must be punished. Also, we believe that guns have no place in a civilized society unless professionally required. Guns are used to kill, do we really want to implicitly allow killing in our society? We are civilized people who do not shoot sub machine guns in the air for a party, or settle our disputes by shooting a guy. We are civilized, decent people, who do not need guns. Guns are for killing, and we need none of that here. Nevertheless, we are prepared to make exceptions for people such as security guards, who may need a pistol or small firearm. However, sub machine guns and machine guns have no place in our civilized society, and guards should not be carrying their guns to other people's homes or bussinesses, threatening them. We therefore believe that they must be restricted from doing this, and that we must be sure that they are using these firearms on a strictly professional basis. So, say yes to safety, say yes to limits, and say no to guns and death. |
