Bill: Adoption Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan National Party (Leftists)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2601
Description[?]:
We here at the DSP believe that every child has the right to grow up in a stable and loving family, which prepares him to be a fine and upstanding citizen of our nation. Phsychological studies have shown that children turn out better and happier when raised by couples, rather than by single parents. It has shown that those cared for by single parents are more at risk with regards to crime and other indicators of failure. No child should we willfully put into a situation where he is being raised by a single, overwhelmed parent. Every child has the right to a family, be it gay or straight. Gay families can be just as good as straight families. But the government should not put kids into situations where they are at a high risk of failure. And giving kids to single parents, with no other parent in the picture, is depriving these children of their right to a family, and placing them at risk. We don't think that's right. Let's give our kids families. Let's say yes to a proper home, yes to the right of a child to have a family, and no to broken homes. |

Message | True -- we are indeed conservative on some issues, such as this one. Don't worry, we'll balance it out with some leftism in our next (economic) proposal. :) |

Message | Indeed, we balanced it out in our justice proposal, which was very lefty. One right-wing one, and one left-wing one. So yes, on this issue, we are indeed taking the side of the conservatives. |

Message | What has become of this nation.... |

Message | ... looks over at another current bill, the one which shows DFM's insistence on senselessly persecuting people who have done nothing more than favor optimal usage and enjoyment of information by freely sharing it with one another; people who have done absolutely nothing wrong. Yes, indeed, what has become of this nation. :( But retract (or switch your vote to against) that one, and we will VERY gladly switch our vote on this one for you. This one is a minor issue for us; that one is absolutely critical. |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
