Bill: Gun Control Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan National Party (Leftists)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2608
Description[?]:
We here at the DSP believe that guns and death have no place upon the streets of Kirlawa. Whilst the DFM like to think that our children and our society are expendable for the liberties of few paranoid nutjobs, we think that killing has no place in our society! We are civilized people, we do not run around mountains with AK-47s, shooting people we disagree with, or who come on our property. We are not cowboys, we are not barbarians! We are civilized Kirlawans, who settle our disputes in civilized ways, not like some stupid rappers, pulling out handguns. Only in extroadinary circumstances, where a person's job requires him to own a pistol, would we allow him to do so. But, we do not believe that killing, or the threat of killing, has any place on our streets. It is not within our liberty to carry weapons around which threaten our fellow Kirlawans. For we are civilized people, and we place our society, and our children's safety, above the rights of a few paranoid and lonely fools. So, let us say yes to safety, yes to civilization, and no to killing! |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
