MessageHow exactly? How does mandating democratic votes on strikes do anything BUT take the power out of the hands of officials?

MessageWe support this bill. The state should be kept out of union's decision making procedures. That's up to their members. Members can change these procedures and of course are free to leave an union when regulations lack democratic control for instance.

Messageooc: in the UK Thatcher introduced a legal requirement for ballots for strike action to prevent wild cat strikes, ie immediate strikes on an issue by workers with no reference to the union leadership. Ever since the law was introduced it has been used by union leaderships and employers alike as a way undermining worker militancy.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).
