Message | (Have you guys looked at our nation's laws!? So...many...things...to...fix...so...few...proposals...) Simple justification for enacting this legislation: Article 1: Individuals have the right to join any organization they like. Unions are desirable because, in addition to negotiating with employers for higher wages, they often provide benefits to members like health insurance and pensions. Employers should retain the right to not acknowledge unions and to refuse to negotiate with them. Article 2: Individuals have the right to violate an employment contract. Those who chose to do so, however, proceed at their own risk -- they can be sued for breach of contract or loss of profit. They, therefore, should not be penalized further criminally. Additionally, strikes are necessary for the effectiveness of unions and v.v. (which is why these two proposals are under the same bill). Furthermore, the right to strike should be extended to industries "critical to society" as well as government jobs because neither group of employers should be exempt from the pressure they might otherwise experience from their employees to raise wages. |

Message | I cannot in good faith support article 2: Our nation cannot allow itself to be crippled in such a way as this. If Article 2 is removed, the support of the Free Republicans is garunteed. |

Message | In order to secure support for this bill and to better develop common ground with the Free Republican Party, the Jakanian Capitalist Party withdraws the second part of the Workers' Rights Act. However, the FR will be held to their word. (I'm also going ahead with the vote) |
Date | 05:43:02, September 28, 2005 CET | From | Nudist Party of United Jakania | To | Debating the National Workers' Rights Act |
Message | As the delegate for the Nudist Party, I concur. The addition of labor unions would be ideal for our country. |

Message | (The status of the bill was set back to debate. I'm going to go ahead with the vote, but I'm counting on support from at least the FR and the NP.) |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
