Bill: Refugee Reform Act of 2616

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan People's Justice Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2616

Refugees who are indeed victims of persecution, definitely deserve our assistance and a safe haven.

"Refugees" who are country-shopping -- perhaps due to having committed crimes in their previous location -- we feel Kirlawa should think twice about giving our own taxpayers' money to.

MessageAbsolutely, we are not the world's poor house for the poor and downtrodden, and its not our responsiblity to care for every single guy in need. We have our own people to take care of.

MessageOpposed. This is a hostile attitude towards people in need. Besides, this will hurt the economy. Due to our relaxed unemployment benefits and other measures which do not stimulate the unemployed to find a job, labour from abroad is needed for our companies to fill in vacancies.

Random fact: Characters are considered to be "owned" by the player who first mentioned or created them. In practice, players may share responsibility for role-playing a character, but ultimate authority rests with the owner.
