MessageWe have currently maintained a surplus of 255,521,376,075 DRA every year. This money is being deprived from tax-payers and not performing any service to the people of Dranland. The GXC proposes allocating 200,000,000,000 DRA of this to science and technology, the main driving force of our economy and greatness as a civilization while still keeping the 55,521,376,075 DRA left as surplus available in cases of emergency etc.

MessageWe'd prefer the surplus be rid of by ridding the country of the tax that currently plagues us. The income tax is unnecessary and criminal. It should be noted that it still is not being paid by any of the Sons of Liberty.

MessageWe could reduce the income tax to 2% without incurring any deficit with current spending levels. That isn't much of a reduction from the current rate of 5% but it is being considered. Science and technology is an increasingly expensive endeavor many private firms can't fund because of its long-term nature and uncertainty of return. It is the driving force for innovation and seeps into all facets of our society, whether it is agriculture, IT or defense. We've run an enormous budget surplus for many years and now it is time to see the fruits of this meager flat 5% tax come into fruition.

MessageI would like us to tax consumption instead of income. Science and Technology are a good investment, but increasing it´s size 21 times is a little too much.

MessageThis is absolutely unnacceptable.
Not only is there absolutely no merit for such a dramatic increase in spending for science and technology, but there is no merit for any increase in spending at all.
If the budget surplus every year is too high, this should not merely be used as an excuse for the federal government to spend the citizen's money wastefully - if anything, we should use the large surplus for substantial tax-cuts, or perhaps simply giving the citizens their tax money back - it is purely the federal government's fault if revenue has been raised wastefully that does not need to be spent.
Furthermore, the Reform Party is committed to reducing the federal budget, de-constructing the managerial state and removing its un-constitutional revenue-raising powers, and devolving almost all responsibility over taxes and budgets to local governments. Local governments can raise taxes and spend them in a way that is relevant to the people of their communities.
The Reform Party will never support any increase in the federal budget, regardless of the reasons behind the increase and whether they are valid or not. This budget is, therefore, against everything we stand for as a party.
Let tax-payer's hard-earned money not be wasted in being spent on things that do not concern them at all. Science and technology can allow great advances for our country and our economy, but whilst these things should be encouraged, a federal spending increase of 200, 000, 000, 000 DRA is most certainly not the appropriate way to do it.
