MessageThis cabinet includes all three old left Parties, plus the top rightist Party, the Nationalists. We proposed the traditional leftist ruling coalition and SPoK, who was particularly impressed by recent nationalization votes by the Nationalists, decided that they were a good addition to the leftist governing coalition. All Parties that ran against the RFP in the Presidential Elections have been excluded from the governing coalition.

Coalition math: SPoK+KNP+PPP+RFP = 404 Seats. A clear majority, but 96 votes short of a super majority, but given the reluctance of the government to vote together in the last cycle, this is not a major issue.

SPoK takes 4 seats including the Chancellorship (in accord with Doctrine of Divided Government, where largest non-presidential Party is named to Chancellorship,) keeps Foreign Ministry and HSS, and adds Trade and Industry.

KNP gains four seats, including Justice Ministry. Food and Ag, Sci-tech and Infrastructure and Transo go to the Nationalists.

PPP gets three seats, keeping Defense and Environment and Tourism, while picking up Edu-Cult

RFP keep Finance and trades food and Ag for Internal Affairs. RFP also has Presidency, making the total 2 + 1 Seats.

MessageGood luck voting together. We find it unlikely that this majority will stand.
Congratulations on a well-run election, SPoK has spent a lot of time in the shadows, it was your time to achieve plurality.
And even though we will be kicked out of the cabinet, there are no hard feelings.

Respectfully,
Rutherford Nelson II

MessageWe appreciate the kind and gracious words from the Federalists, and only wish you luck. It is bad for you, and in fact, nearly every Party in the government that the States' right confederation joined when it did and took votes from you all. Leftist Parties, including the RFP also suffered, and the only rightist Party that survive SRC's entry and did well because of it were the Nationalists.

But the Nationalists vote with us half the time, which is more than we can say for the ILDA... er... I mean the Communists, so I have hope for this alliance, especially with regards to SPoK's nationalization agenda. They may not vote for the best possible black, but when we argue that the power grid needs to be nationalized or things like this, they are frequently the only other Party that supports those bills, and I think there we have a good basis for agreement.

I predict you will all recover next election anyway, because the "restored" parties always do really well and then kind of fall off to their more natural position.

We look forward to opportunities for cooperation with our small government adversaries.

Serenely,
SPoK

MessageOne bit of correction. My math was off. With the KNP the ruling coalition would be 37 votes short of a super majority, coming in at 463 seats, not the afore mentioned 404. It still presents a gridlock potential regardless, because defection of the one right wing Party in the government can be enough to hold up legislation.

Just a word of correction on the math.

MessageBoy, if the Nationalists don't vote on this one, they're screwed.

MessageIf neither of these cabinets pass, we will consider the current government to have collapsed and will feel obligated to call for early elections.

MessageWe intend to introduce a new cabinet immediately, with the Federalists in the Nationalists' place, in the event that this one doesn't pass. So hold your horses, there LPK.

MessageOOC: The Nationalists haven't logged in in a day, so I suspect that if they did they would have voted for this proposal. But I'm also willing to bet that if the Federalists were given their seats, the Federalists would support the cabinet.
