Message | We oppose this legislation for one reason, and that is the following: DNA could prove to be essential evidence in convicting a suspected or accused criminal, particularly if there are no other means through which his guilt may be determined. DNA of accused and suspected criminals may prove valuable in finding whether or not they are guilty of the crimes they have allegedly committed - surely this will assist in the course of justice. DNA tests may be the deciding feature in whether a guilty man is justly punished for his crimes, or if he walks free due to the lack of any real evidence against him. The Reform Party values justice highly, and whilst DNA records on the accused may seem invasive in some regards, the alternative is perhaps much worse. |
