| We here at the DSP believe that our national flag is above private commercial interests, and should not be abused simply for the use of profit. This nation places values and hard work above profit, placing the flag in the commerical is implicitly saying that the nation of Kirlawa endorses the profiteering of the company using the flag. Moreover, we believe that our national flag should be something more than a commerical gimmick, it should be something for the people to unite around. If people must burn the flag to excercise their free right to protest, we are ok with that. But when we cheapen our flag to such an extent that it becomes merely a commerical gimmick, of no true value, well, we cannot tolerate that. Our national flag should be place above commericialism, for it is a symbol of our values and our nation. So, let us say yes to a flag above commercialism, and no to cheapening our flag to a mere commercial gimmick. |
