Bill: Congressional System Reform Amendment II [Veritas]
Details
Submitted by[?]: Sons of Liberty
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2632
Description[?]:
Furthering our attempts to craft an Executive branch separate from the legislative, we propose that the cabinet be a separate system of offices from the legislature, consisting of nominees that the head of state proposes to be ratified by a check from the legislature. Thus, the nominees and head of state would be completely separate from the legislature and would further allow the system to be decentralized and reduce control of the people and government by any one entity. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Only the Head of State can propose a cabinet coalition.

Message | Again, this is merely strengthening the head of state, and rather than preventing tyranny and corruption, this may actually augment it. |

Message | Strengthens the head of state that does nothing by taking power away from the Lexate which is currently nigh-dictatorial in its power. |

Message | We cannot, as we have mentioned in another subsidiary legislation of this bill-package, support such a drastic alteration to the constitution. We do not question the wisdom and knowledge of the great men who crafted Dranland's constitution, and therefore, we will always vote to protect the constitution and follow its original intentions to the letter. The constitution is a timeless document - it is just as relevant now as it was when it was crafted. We will never change that. |

Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
