Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Last Resort (ii)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2120

Description[?]:

The AAP previously pushed for nationalisation to be replaced with a private system, whereby the government effectively 'nationalises' industries in trouble.

One of the big concerns seemed to be that industry will fail DURING that changeover, and that help will thus arrive too late... and the industry will be disrupted. This is obviously especially important in highly necessary industries.

But, how can a 'free market' be maintained that avoids such a situation?

The AAP believes there is a compromise option: to allow ALL such industries to remain in private hands, and thus, to remain competitive - (satisfying our libertarian ideals) - but to allow the government to offer subsidy to IMPORTANT services that get into trouble.

Note: the AAP intends it to be clear that market forces are still intended to be the guide, and that the subsidy program is intended to maintain CRITICAL services... not fund madcap schemes.
