Current:
====================================== In lands where rivers flow and plains stretch wide, Beneath the sun's embrace, in dew's gentle tide, Between the sea and peaks, in beauty's pride, We stand united, in freedom's stride. Oh, land of valor, green as spring's first day, For thee, the bold once gave their lives away. Their sacrifice, our birthright, forever to stay, Children of liberty, in harmony we pray. From diverse strains, one nation, bold and free, A legacy of unity for all to see. A land of two peoples, in solidarity, May we forever cherish, in peace and unity. |
Proposed:
Dear land of our fathers, of rivers and plains; Made rich by the sunshine, and lush by the rains, Set gem-like and fair, between mountains and sea, Your children salute you, dear land of the free. Green land of our fathers, our heroes of yore, Both native and settler, laid bones on your shore. This soil so they hallowed, and from them are we, All sons of one Mother, the home of the free. Great land of our fathers, diverse though our strains, We're born of their sacrifice, heirs of their pains, And ours is the glory their eyes did not see, One land of two peoples, united and free. |

Message | "We are resolutely opposed to this bill as we maintain our commitment to His Imperial Majesty and the institution of the Hulstrian monarchy, which serves as a symbol of both continuity and ensures constitutional democracy. However, we find it humourous that the SDR included the term 'settler' in their proposal for an anthem. Are they actually insinuating that Hulstrians whose families have been in this country for over a thousand years are 'settlers'?" -Nicolaas van der Burgh Chairman of the HNP DM for Graaffsberg South HNP Spokesman on Finance |

Message | "Our party would like to state to all parties, particularly the HNP, that the proposed anthem is Land of Our Fathers, the anthem of Gishoto. The song at the time reflected unity between the Gao-Showa and Hulstrians. We did not alter or change the anthem in any way from its original form and do not plan to do so. Any party that is going to, or might support this bill, feel free to make suggestions about flags, titles, etc. We will not put our bill to vote until a later date." - Zhou Peng Chairman of the SDR |
Date | 01:41:05, September 20, 2008 CET | From | Republican Coalition | To | Debating the Democratic Hulstria Act of 2639 |
Message | We would like to see the flag amendment removed (that is another issue for another bill, so can be seperated), and the head of state name be amended to "Archon", not President, as this is the historical name of the head of state. |
Date | 02:19:28, September 20, 2008 CET | From | Traditional Conservative's Party | To | Debating the Democratic Hulstria Act of 2639 |
Message | "The TCP will never support this bill in 10,000 years. We will never lose our titles and the Emporer never will be dethroned. 70% of this nation is Hulstrian ethnically. You cannot forget about them and their beliefs. As for the national anthem, we do not want the anthem of Gishoti, we want the anthem of Hulstria! Long live the Emporer! Long live Hulstria!" Prince Aleksander II von Scharnhorst, Count of Fyker TCP Chancellor Minister of Finance |
Date | 02:37:21, September 20, 2008 CET | From | Wiedervereinigten Nationalisten | To | Debating the Democratic Hulstria Act of 2639 |
Message | "Had I been alive, I would have opposed the first and second implementations of Land of our Fathers for the exact reasons that I am opposing this incarnation. Republicanism, despite its promises of unity and peace, has always brought this country only grief and fighting. The HNP are sensitive to the very real concerns that the Gao-Showa minority have about their own interests and the country as a whole. This does not, however, merit the abolition of an effective and stable system which ensures constitutional democracy and preserves the rule of law. Greater Hulstria belongs to all of its citizens, regardless or race, colour, creed, or ancestry united through our common loyalty to our nation and Emperor. That is the idea of Greater Hulstria, not divisive partisanship and petty political squabbles between factions." -Nicolaas van der Burgh Chairman of the HNP DM for Graaffsberg South HNP Spokesman on Finance |

Message | "We cannot state the sickness that this bill sends to thousands upon thousands of Hulstrians. The Gao-Showa, as the HNP said, need to have rights, but changing many years of tradition just for political gain makes me want to vomit. The SDR need to rethink their strategy from "How can we win?" to "How can we help." Millicent Marie von Scharnhorst TCoE Chairman Minister of Science and Technology |
Date | 04:19:36, September 20, 2008 CET | From | Königstreue Sozialdemokrat 社会民主 | To | Debating the Democratic Hulstria Act of 2639 |
Message | "Hulstria does not need an emperor or any sort of monarchy to stay unified. Our current government is ineffective. The people do not elect any of their national leaders. The Emperor of course does not have elections, and the Staatsminister is appointed through bureaucracy and deals between parties. Our party not only represents the Gao-Showa people, but we also represent some of this nation's anti-monarchists, and therefore the dethroning of the Emperor will remain one of our top goals that will be achieved eventually in the future. Hulstria will one day once again become a republic!" - Zhou Peng Chairman of the SDR |
