Bill: Space Exploration Act of 2120
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti Monarchiste Catholique
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2121
Description[?]:
Honourable Colleagues, Some time ago our colleagues in the Liberal Democrats introduced legislation that would have privatized space exploration entirely. That bill did not pass. Taking a cue from our colleagues, though, we would like to introduce a compromise position. In general, private companies have more incentive to engage in activities like this and do it with less expense. By allowing our government space agency to contract with private companies, our nation still receives all the benefits of space exploration (new technology, scientific discovery, etc.) and the exploration itself is conducted more efficiently and with little cost to the taxpayer. At the same time, the government space agency would supervise the private companies to make sure they are doing a good job and aren't violating any laws. |

Message | We support. This can only help. If big business gets nasty, we put restrictions on them. If big business gets rebellious, we go back to fully government-controlled space operations. |
