Bill: Ecology Act (Forestry) 2654

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Tukarali

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2655

Description[?]:

The nation shall operate a national forestry body and all future logging shall be under licence only.
Licence will be granted only if:
1-There is no great damage to the proposed area (i.e. area is not regarded as that of habitat of endangered animals, it is not of scientific importance or that deforestation could cause geological damage such as land slides or soil erosion to the surrounding area)*
2-The company is willing to replant at replacement level (Provided area does not fall under section 1)
3-The area is needing cleared for government approved building projects.

The national logging company will have to meet the same criteria as private firms and where a better financial deal is offered the government must grant licence to the private company.

*The government has the right to overrule section 1 if the land is needed through eminent domain (section 3) as cases of eminent domain take precedent as they have already been declared as being for the greater good.

MessagePretty straightforward, government ensures sensible logging procedure and in areas where it may be cost prohibitive but still with a need to be cleared then the government will perform its own lumberjack industry.

MessageThe forests belong to the tribes, not the national government. The national government has no right to seize control.
