Message | No, GM is any lab alteration of the genetic code through means other than cross breeding. GM plants will crossbreed with nearby non-GM plants, whose offspring, when planted the next year, will contain traces of GM materials. Unless you are on an island and can somehow enforce a ban on imports then you can't say for certain that there are no GM plant materials in any product. That, and there is no test that can accurately determine whether a plant is genetically modified, or cross bred to produce traits. |
