Bill: Reform Package
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Radical Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2688
Description[?]:
We wish to implement the following reforms. Article I: It is wasteful for the government to spend money on lawyers of everybody who gets accused of a crime. The middle class, and the rich are completely capable of paying for their own lawyers. Article III: The logic is the same as for Article II. We would be willing to change to a different option available, such as "The government subsidises the cost of pharmaceutical drugs for people on low income" or "The government does not subsidise the cost of pharmaceutical drugs at all." Article IV: Many other areas of government have been left up to the local governments, we believe that this should as well. This takes the burden of funding such program off of the federal government. |

Message | Article I - Contrary to the FRP's opinion, the RSA firmyl hold that the government should not allow the ill-qualified to reproduce simply because they want to. Only citizens who've shown they can raise a child capably and intelligently should be able to contribute to the next generation of Selucians. Article II - We oppose per SHH's arguments in the previous attempt (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=226966) Article III - This seems fairly reasonable. We can support this in a separate bill. Article IV - Whilst we believe the current child benefit is excessive, and would support other reductions, we cannot support devolution of policy-making to the provinces. In a separate bill, and with a different policy-change, we could support. |

Message | We are opposed to the part regarding the government obligating daily working hours to be negotiated between the unions and the companies. We did support, in private channels, another bill taking this bill as a compromise and are disappointed this did not happen. We will only abstain in our show of disagreement. |
