Bill: Emergency Electoral Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Old School Liberal Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2124
Description[?]:
Since Parliament is apparently unready to lengthen the term for government, we are going to propose a piece of legislation that will distribute the seats of Parliament with more equitability than we have presently. While this is by no means the end of what we want, it is the most we can propose as per the laws of identical bills. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The method used to determine the number of seats each region receives in the national legislature.
Old value:: Equal representation, regardless of region population.
Current: Equal representation, regardless of region population.
Proposed: A pseudo-proportional algorithm that gives considerable advantage to smaller regions.

Message | I implore you to support this bill. I don't understand why the concept of 1 person = 1 vote is distasteful. Presently there is incredible inequality in voting regulations, and though this is only a stop-gap measure for one election, it's infinitely better than giving 60 seats to Hiamou, whose population is nearly 1.5 times that of Keletia, which also presently gets 60 seats. |
