Message | We will not support the ratification of Accord des Nations Amicales. We are already members of an alliance with our neighbors and fellow Dovanians and have been so for approximately 250 years. So far they have proved to be loyal and helpful, and we will prove that to them as well. We would happily support this bill if the treaty was removed. |

Message | Our fellow Dovanians would keep all of Dovani sequestered from Terra, and at the same time reign in the right of Lourenne to pursue her own colonial interests. Sekowo, as I assume you refer to primarily, since Sekowo sees itself as the height of Dovanian power, has remained our "ally" only so long as we allow them to constrain our Kingdom geographically. What right does Sekowo have to Dovani that overshadows our own Divine Right? If Lourenne were to pursue an agenda that would liberate all Lourennians across Dovani, as is our right to do, would our Dovanian neighbors be supportive? Queen Thérèse |

Message | OOC: You do realize Lourenne has almost as much colonial territory as Sekowo, right? |

Message | OOC: And what would be the incentive for the Queen to accept that as final? Why should she not pursue more territory, if it is her right? |

Message | My Queen, be carefull not to saw through the branch on which you are sitting. Lourenne is still a much smaller nation, people and economic wise, than our Dovanian neighbours. We should not boldly go up against our brothers in arms. At least we know they will support us. What do we know of the allies of whom you speak. They have never proven themselves to us as our dear Dovanian friends have. Senator Renier Rubarb |

Message | OOC: Because that's expansionism into civilized countries and leads to war. Because Sekowo (and Dovani) has been Lourenne's oldest ally, going back to only a few short years after Lourenne gained its independence. Because it was Sekowo that, with no strings attached not only provided a great deal of funding to Lourenne but safeguarded an area meant for Lourenne to colonize. Finally because the Accord has both been inactive and useless for centurires and because it started admitting nations without a French majority or large minority or French as an official language. |

Message | OOC: Alright, I'll address both of you OOCly since my real problems with the Sekowans is OOC. I've played Particracy for near on 400 game years. I started in Sekowo, actually, but it was before the time of the DSP's regime. I left for Solentia, and I've moved various times, but all the while I've paid attention to world events, especially those in Sekowo, seeing as it held a special place in my heart or what-have-you. Across the years, I have seen the DSP essentially eliminate all possibility for RP on Dovani (and this is, indeed, a personal opinion and subject to debate,) through his ever-present "Dovani-for-Dovanians!!!" bit. While this is well within his right, both OOCly and ICly, I come from a school of thought which takes IC first. What happens happens, take it and play the game. I realize, Iori, that you have invested a great deal of time into Sekowo and Dovani, but if parties in another NATION wish to RP their piece, then let them. Dovani for Dovanians is great, but it's a lot like the reason I left Solentia, where "Solentia for Solentians" left no room for fun. I've seen you say that "fun" is the maintenance of the status quo elsewhere on the forum, and you are entitled to that opinion, but my own opinion is that the occasional absolute ravaging of the establishment is the way to maximize the fun of Particracy. If I can't garner the support I need then so be it, but if I do, then I will go through with this. Summersdale, I do not blame you for sticking by our IC allies, but our IC allies, in my opinion as I said, are OOCly some of my least respected members of the Particracy community, and this is my attempt to ICly distance Lourenne from that mess. Apologies to anyone I may have offended. It's a game, and I'm going to have my fun with it. |

Message | OOC: I'd like to get into this, but I'm not gonna. Why beat a dead horse?! The treaty failed and other nations have colonized Dovani. Moving on... |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
