Bill: Public Official Dress Code Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Country Liberal Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2733

Description[?]:

As most are probably aware, the KB largely draws its supports from people of faith in Kirlawa. We feel it is disagreeable that many religious Kirlawans are unable to wear religious symbols whilst exercising their official duties. It seems bizarre that members of the assembly, or any other public official should be expressly forbidden, by the state, from wearing, for example, a necklace with a crucifix attached. The pointless legislation currently in place should be overturned.

MessageThis is legislation that ensures that our public officials are not at the service of any religion, but serve all the people of Kirlawa. It protects the wall of separation.

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.
