MessageWhile there is much to be said for regulationg the amount of wood taken out of our forests (which is why the government agency issues licences), limiting felling to fire breaks makes no sense economically and ecologically.
Such a measure is nothing but an incentive to produce essential goods, such as furniture, from plastic and metal, which is more than questionable ecologically. Wood remains a natural resource which, used within reason, remains more ecologically friendly and economically viable than the use of fossile and geological resources.

Random fact: Jelbic = "Group of cultures with an overall Central Asian/Eurasian steppe theme, using a fictional language developed specifically for Particracy".

Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand
