Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Labour Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2129
Description[?]:
Advantages in cloning technology and the associated research are most definitely in the interest of Jakania and to the wider world. Not allowing such research will ultimately leave our nation behind others, however we do feel since there are ethical considerations in this arena the government must set the tone and ensure researchers heed these before making rash decision on projects. The DLU thus propose the following: |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards the cloning of human beings.
Old value:: Research in cloning technologies is not regulated.
Current: Research in cloning technologies is legal, but regulated.
Proposed: Research in cloning technologies is legal, but regulated.

Message | The JLSP would accept this legislation. Mainly with regards to human cloning. We need to make sure that, where applicable, neither donor, parent, or even product, have their basic human rights, wishes or consent infringed, and so minor regulation is neccesary. |

Message | The NP would rather see cloning made illegal for religious reasons, but sees this as a step in the right direction. |
