Message | We oppose because "in times of war" is ambigious. It could mean that the government can draft people whenever it is at war, which could include unjust wars abroad. For example, this would give the government the power to draft people to fight a war against a nation merely suspected of possessing WMDs. If the draft was limited to being used only when the nation was being invaded, we would consider support. |
