Bill: Corporate Tax Bill - 2830

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Restoration Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2832

Description[?]:

The Orange Party suggests that we lower the corporate tax bill to a nominal fee that encourages business to build here. The Ruta is currently doing well on foreign exchange markets and our GDP is good, but a nation of our size should have more economic pull. Lower taxes encourages growth.

We would also propose future growth to our science/technology budget in the future in order to allow more federal grants to encourage innovation here, essentially making Rutania an economic and technological hub.

MessageThe DPR feel that the current value is way too low, so lowering the current value would not be acceptable.

MessageWhat good would raising this percentage do? We don't need the revenues and it would make us less competitive in the international market.

MessageRutania has one of the lowest Corporate Tax in Terra. Why lower it even more?

The revenues can be spent on our much needed education and health services. Instead of taxing people less, why not spend the money gained from taxes on services for the people. Not just our, mostly unnecessary, military.

MessageAre the DPR actually suggesting an increase in taxes on corporations, when Rutania's surplus is already so excessive? There is no need for an increase in this tax, and in fact there is an obvious reason for a decrease, as has been proposed.
Why tax corporations more and risk marring economic productivity and competition when there is no need for an increase in taxes to begin with? The DPR's statements are utterly confusing.

MessageWe believe that any kind of tax cut is welcome unless it involves the bankruptcy of the state. This is no the case here, therefore we support.

MessageWe believe the current tax to be sufficient and would actually prefer raising the tax percentage to pay for essential services.

Why are the Heritage Party constantly confused? It is worrying to have the leading party in Rutania persistently flummoxed.

MessageThe PPR have stumbled upon a revolutionary new way of decreasing the national surplus. Instead of decreasing the already minimal tax, we propose that the surplus be spent! We are aware that this may be seen as radical but we understand that taxes can be put towards healthcare, education and welfare reforms.

MessageWhat about, eventually, a little bit of both?

And to answer the DPR and LDP. We really don't understand raising the tax "to pay for essential services" when there is already a 40-what billion surplus. There is no need for the tax.

MessageThere is no need for the tax because we currently don't offer any public services to our people. Keep the tax the same but increase our level of public funding.

MessageIn response to the PPR's statements, why should the surplus be spent frivolously, merely because its available? A surplus so excessive should not have occurred to begin with - it is an indication not that the government is not spending enough, but that it is taxing unnecessarily. As the parties of the RRC have pointed out at great length already, there is currently no need for federal spending on healthcare or education, as these services are funded and managed exclusively by local governments.
Tax-payers' money has been raised irresponsibly and excessively, and should therefore be used for tax-cuts, rather than unnecessary and wasteful spending.

To answer the LDP's question, we are 'constantly confused' because the parties of the Rutanian far-left continue to take stances and make statements that cannot possibly be given reasonable or logical explanation, and deliberately ignore facts in order to push their radical ideological positions. When the leftist parties cease taking positions that are utterly baffling and that defy all common sense, the RHP will no longer be confused.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
