| Message | The Prime Minister: Mr Speaker, on what grounds do the NWP wish to increase the adulthood age? 16 year olds are quite capable of acting responsibly as adults. Furthermore, Mr Speaker, do those currently finding themselves as the age of 16, suddenly become disenfranchised and doomed back to childhood? Mr Speaker, we cannot support Article II as our own national laws are perfectly humane in themselves. International standards could soon change, and we could be forced to accept worse standards than our current provision. Hutorian law is responsible, and such things should be determined by our own legislature, not some supranational body. |

We merely argued that 16 is an ideal age, and could they please tell us on what grounds they would raise it, and whether those curently at 16 would go back to being classed as children? Their comment about failing history puzzles us, Mr Speaker. To what are they referring? |
