Message | Mr Speaker, we already have a special branch which include marksmen and are an organic part of our national police force. Stripping our police officers of their standard firearms will merely put our officers in great danger as our current gun laws are pretty lax. |

Message | Madam Speaker, we think the nationalists have misunderstood the bill. At the moment police officers can carry standard firearms, and that would be the same under this new legislation. The difference would be that specially trained firearms units would be allowed to carry more than the standard. The nationalists are actually, Madam Speaker, arguing in favour of this bill without realising it! |

Message | Madam Speaker, the CLP is correct--this bill would not strip the police officers of standard firearms, it would give specially trained units the ability to carry more than the standard to be used in special situations. |

Message | Mme. Speaker, how would this be implemented? Would the military-grade units be added to local police units, or would they operate as an element of the Civil Guard? If the latter, how would they be implemented at the local level, and what sort of coordination with local law enforcement would there be? |

Message | OOC: They have changed the bill, I see. I never read it properly. I only assumed the third option was that only specially trained firearm squads could carry guns. I agree to this bill. I'm sorry. |
