Message | Madam Speaker, I am puzzled as to the place of Article II in this bill. Given that the rest of the articles 'toughen' the system, it is odd that the HNP propose to abolish the specially trained firearms units. |
Date | 18:35:32, March 02, 2010 CET | From | Northern Arrow Party (UM) | To | Debating the Criminal Justice Act |
Message | Madam Speaker, the NAP agrees with the CLP. These omnibus bills do not allow parties to show their real thoughts about the individual issues. |
Date | 19:58:34, March 02, 2010 CET | From | Hutorian Conservative Party | To | Debating the Criminal Justice Act |
Message | Madam Speaker, all police officers will carry weapons so there is no need for fire-arm squads |

Message | Madam Speaker, for the record, let it just be stated that the initial proposal was for police officers to only carry standard weapons - this has now been changed. Madam Speaker, ordinary police officers already do carry standard weapons so the argument of the HNP is based on dodgy ground. Madam Speaker, are we really saying that the ordinary local police officer needs to carry military-grade equipment? What sort of society does the HNP believe we have?! |
